Surprise!

Oh. My. Gosh. OH MY GOSH! OH MY GOSH!! Yep, that was pretty much my reaction. Right before I came tearing/falling down the stairs into the kitchen and squealing "I'm pregnant!" After lots of happy tears and hugs, our next thought was We can't wait to tell our parents! Unfortunately, Ryan was boarding a plane the next morning for China for two weeks. We decided we wouldn't tell anyone until after I had been to the doctor and Ryan got home. That lasted all of one day before I had dinner with my brother and thought I might explode if I didn't tell him.

So, as we were walking through Target, I oh-so-casually told him I needed to pick up a book. The look on his face when I picked up What to Expect When You're Expecting was great- like confusion, comprehension and excitement in the span of about 8 seconds. The next person in on our secret was Dori (sorry Mom!). I decided, with Ryan out of town for two weeks, I needed moral support. Besides, Dori's pregnant too, so I could ask her loads of questions and we could be excited together- best idea ever! I surprised her at lunch on Monday with 2 copies of Fit Pregnancy magazine- one for her and one for me. We definitely got a few sideways looks from the people at the mall when we started hugging, squealing and bouncing up and down.

My first doctor's appointment is January 26th, and Ryan gets home on the 30th, so we're planning on telling my family the following weekend. Then, we'll tell his family the weekend after that when we see them for his Dad's birthday. We're thinking of all kinds of fun, creative ways of telling them, and we can't WAIT to see their reactions!
